HOW TO CELEBRATE MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL
After Lunar New Year/Spring Festival, the Mid-Autumn Festival is the second most significant Chinese holiday of the year. It’s a time for family get-togethers, food, moon worship, and harvest celebrations. How to enjoy the Mid-Autumn Festival with friends and family will be covered in this article.
HOW TO CELEBRATE MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL
AMID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL, WHEN IS IT?
The Harvest Moon, or the full moon that appears each year closest to the autumnal equinox (the start of fall), coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Instead of using the more widely used Gregorian calendar, the Chinese festival uses the Chinese lunisolar calendar. It takes place on the eighth month’s fifteenth day. The eighth lunar month, often known as the “Mid-Autumn Festival,” falls in the middle of the autumn season.
According to the Chinese calendar, this is the moon’s largest and brightest phase, which also happens to fall during the harvest season.
HOW IS THE MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL CELEBRATED?
Visiting family back home is a requirement. Not returning home would be nearly as bad as missing Thanksgiving at home in the United States!
We make an effort to avoid planning job commitments or even vacations during the Mid-Autumn Festival because we believe that spending time at home with loved ones is the finest location to enjoy.
The Mid-Autumn Festival is now widely recognized by its colorful lanterns, which foster a joyous celebration and illuminate the way for good things to come.
Instead than solely red and gold as during Lunar New Year, they can be found in a variety of hues. Even pomelos, pumpkins, and gourds can be used to create lanterns that resemble Halloween jack-o-lanterns.
